RECENT HAPPENINGS

The Southeast Corridor study is now complete. After three years of public input, research and analysis, a Locally Preferred Alternative has been adopted by the MPO Executive Board. This alternative provides enhanced bus service along the Murfreesboro Road, Old Nashville Pike and I-24 roadways between Nashville and Murfreesboro. The improvements are suggested for short, medium and long-term implementation. To get a snap-shot of the improvements, see the Executive Summary. To read the entire study, you may download each chapter of the Southeast Corridor study.

What is the Southeast Corridor High Performance Transit Alternatives Study?

Fall- 2007 The Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) completed a study in August of 2007 called the Southeast Corridor High-Performance Transit Alternatives Study. The study looked at potential transit systems that could be built in the corridor between Nashville and Murfreesboro.

The Southeast Corridor High Performance Transit Alternatives Study has considered all high performance transit alternatives that could address the problems within the corridor. With public input throughout the process, the study has compared the cost and benefits of many possible alternatives to determine a transit solution that includes both short-term and long-term recommendations.
